Toon Tuesday: Quill the Vintex Warrior (Rifts)

I’ve never written a Vintex before, M.D.C. races are intimidating to put together sometimes and I’ve rarely ever played a strict merc class/race. But the Vintex Warrior is a surprising breeze compared to many other M.D.C. playable races! No worries about mucking around with magic, psionics, or huge skill selections; this race is incredibly straight forward. And then his background and occupation were just so interesting to combine! Enjoy.

Game: Palladium Books’ Rifts RPG
Books Needed: Rifts Ultimate Edition, and Rifts World Book 30: D-Bees of North America.
Recommended Setting: Most common in Canada, New West or the Pecos Empire, written as a bodyguard/butler/caretaker wih optional play style as the hired help of another party member. Also suitable as a reasonably powerful NPC of the same occupation.

High Level Toon Tuesday: Vorrk the Orc Blademaster (Warcraft)

This will be my first character post that does not start as a fresh level one toon, rather a prestige class with a total level count of 10! Originally, I was just going to write up an Orc Barbarian or Shaman, but something about “Blademaster” just had a nice ring to it. “Vorrk the Orc”, heh. Would the Two-handed Weapon Mastery Blademaster skill and Exotic Weapons Proficiency: Thorium feat stack (with Vorrk, that would add a 4x STR MOD bonus to damage, 2x from Two-handed Weapon Mastery and 2x from Exotic Weapons Proficiency: Thorium)? Due to the unpopularity of Warcraft RPG, I am sadly without answer. So I’d leave it up to the DM (I would personally allow it, especially with a Prestige class.)

Game: White Wolf Publishing’s Warcraft RPG
Books Needed: World of Warcraft RPG Core Book (First Edition), and Dungeons and Dragons Player’s Handbook (3.5 Edition).
Recommended Setting: Either in a campaign with a starting level of 10 or as an NPC (or optional villian if used in an Alliance campaign.) Best suited to Horde based campaigns, perhaps with a wartime, fighting arena, bounty hunter, or other similar campaign theme. Can function in all but the most extreme climates.

Product: Sitting at an approximate 300 pages with the stretch goal content now being added to the core book, The Queen’s Cavaliers is a Matriarchal, Victorian era game where your charater is actually a combination of two chosen classes (this allows for hundreds of unique characters! This game also boasts, “TQC’s combat system is flexible and designed to be entertaining, with more options than simply doing damage from round to round. Want to swing on a chandelier to gain advantage over your foes, or recite an epic poem to build style points? These are all valid and effective strategies in TQC.”
Quality: Great quality! Already the stretch goals have unlocked even more beautiful spreads of artwork and special map packs, as well as free map packs and detailed adventures and supplements! The setting and whimsical, swashbuckling combat system is an incredibly unique twist on your typical Clockpunk Victorian RPG, and with all of the previous goals achieved, the book is of an optimal quality.
Tagline: “A Baroque, Clockpunk tabletop fantasy role playing game.”
Estimated Delivery: February 2015, though it may be released earlier as much of the game’s content is already written, just the artwork, editing, layout, stretch goal content and printing left!
