I have teamed up with the amazing Axis Game Factory to help celebrate their newly released Zombie FPS and Fantasy Side Scroller DLC products with a fantastic chance to win the AGFPRO program and their Battlemat minatures battle system DLC!

I’m always happy to see more opportunities for online tabletop gaming, and this one really catches my attention as a Dungeon Master. Please note that this is not a review of the program or DLC, just a quick rundown and a free giveaway for you to enioy!

What is AGFPRO?
AGFPRO is a comprehensive toolset program specifically designed to provide even casual users with a program that can create games with unique environments and multiple level support and options for game development. Though originally designed to run in concert with the free or professional versions of Unity 4, it does not require the Unity 4 program to play and is fully functional as a stand alone creation system.

AGFPRO also has two available versions: Basic and Premium. Both packages include the world editing, construction, and gameplay tools necessary to make and play a basic game model and both versions offer full support for any of the downloadable content packages; the Premium also includes Unity 4 conversion and support, use of hundreds of AGF sourced artwork, and the new ability to import/export hieghtmaps (any .png file can become a terrain!) Both packages (and the downloadable content) also run efficiently on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Toon Tuesday: Edgar the Human Rogue Scholar (Rifts)

After that whopping post last week, I wanted to do a simpler character this week. Imagine my surprise when I ended up rolling them with psionic ability! Still, this character was a lot of fun, and as I generally adore playing more skill-based PCs, it was fairly easy to write. Hope you enjoy this little bookworm!

Game: Palladium Books’ Rifts RPG
Books Needed: Rifts Ultimate Edition, Rifts Sourcebook 01
Recommended Setting: Any average adventuring group of a generally good or honorable alignment that is not pro-Coalition. Due to the naure of the character and O.C.C., not well suited to M.D.C./high powered campaigns – this is a “skill character”, not a “kill character”.

High Level Toon Tuesday: Whitehowl (and Jellybean) the Septumbran Witch Wolf Shifter (Rifts)

The first time my cousin had ever played Rifts, he wanted to try a Shifter. Just to make things a bit more complicated, he made it a Septumbran Witch Wolf, too. Though we only played a couple of sessions with him before he was headed back home, it was very memorable, indeed! When our characters first met it was in a tavern (I know, I know), and he ended up showing off his Shadowmeld spell. I think, in the end that character would have sold us all into slavery or eaten us alive (once we’d outlived our use, of course), but it was a great introduction for my cousin, who has been chomping at the bit to play with us again since.

Now, it took the better part of 3 hours to pour over the Shifter spells and abilities, but thankfully I’ve already written up a Shifter for a previous week, so I’ve got the basic abilities all copied out. Doing a higher level NPC villain is always a pain in the butt, however, even moreso if it’s a caster. The Shifter has the unique, optional ability to bond themselves to a Supernatural force, which I have opted to do for this NPC; we have to challenge our players somehow, right? This particular Demon Lord I made up, and some simple details are included that tie into this character in particular.

This is the longest character post yet, so buckle up!

Trigger Warnings: Gore, murder, cannibalism, and the occult.

Game: Palladium Books’ Rifts RPG
Books Needed: Rifts Ultimate Edition, Rifts: Book of Magic, and Rifts Dimension Book 07: Megaverse Builder.
Recommended Setting: As an NPC villain for a medium powered group; levels 6-8 and of good alignment. With their spell selection and abilities, they have great potential for a horror genre campaign. Very much not recommended as a playable character.
