Triple Toon Tuesday: Smoothshot, Dojin, and Lady Grey! (Breachworld)

In celebration of the Breachworld website launching (see link below), and because I’ve been itching to write up a couple of new characters for said setting, this Toon Tuesday I offer 3 brand new, fully written and playable Breachworld residents! There is one starting “level” character, one moderate, and one advanced (there isn’t a level system, abilities and skills are upgraded via character points, or CP.) Be sure to check out the website (which looks pretty shiny on my tablet) and think about preordering a copy for yourself (if you haven’t already!)

Background: Raised in a medium sized town, Kyle helped tend to the livestock and gaurd them in the night. After many years of using her watchful eye and quick reflexes to fend off thieves of animal nature or otherwise, she took her skills with a gun in search of better fortune. For too long she had been stuck in one place, so she embarked as a marksman first, and quickly became a bounty hunter of sorts, even dabbling a bit in law enforcement if the perks were good enough. With her guns, knowledge of the streetlife, and knack for persuasion (sometimes through her weaponry), she enjoys the life she’s made for herself, even the grittier, bloody parts. Though she does get lonely from time to time, she has always had a bad eye for companionship (even taking up with a bandit she was supposed to capture) and often gets robbed or conned as a result.

Background: Parent’s scientific team came through a Breach while investigating it on their homeworld, once they realized they could not go back, they settled on Earth in a small but friendly human town to continue to research the anomalies and ways to close and open them. Dojin was surrounded by Breach science his entire life, and the bright child quickly picked up on the (admittedly archaic by his race’s standards) technology available. After some years, the town was hit by Reptillian Raiders and his leg was mauled by a riderless Trapcat trying to drag him out of hiding. Luckily, he had an ion pistol and managed to stun the beast, giving his family time to find him and kill the creature. By the time the raid was over, however, the damage was done and he lost his right leg. Spending so many years disabled, Dojin focused even more on technology and the Breach sciences, trying to piece together a cybernetic prosthetic for himself. The required technology is scarce, however, even when hiring adventurers to scout out ancient ruins. He has a wheelchair that helps him retain his mobility, but still longs to either finish his project and walk again, or find a way to go through a breach to his race’s technologically advanced world, where his body could possibly be repaired.

Recommended Setting: Any starting adventuring party (no CP spent or earned).

Character Three: Lady Grey
image

Name: Yon’Dyth “Lady Grey” Ikuur

Gear:
Weapons:
Two-Handed Sword (3D+1)
Armour:
Padded (+1)
Vehicle:

Other:
Screen
Datacard

Background: A surprising tactician and leader, Yon’Dyth slowly became known as “Lady Grey” due to her sophisticated, diplomatic nature (and her skin tone.) She was a young Tusk when her family took up residence in a town that was wary of their presence, and quickly learned that she would have to make the right kind of friends and say the right things in order to improve her station as she got older. She befriended the son of a well respected scientist, who helped get her large foot in the door of the town politics he was involved with. Eventually, her opinion became highly respected by the leaders of the large town, they even sought her advice on matters of security, trade, and commerce. She is well known as a cunning, intimidating advisor and has helped to improve relations between humans and alien races in the nearby areas, as well. She has access to much of the technology, weapons, and other supplies stored by the town and businesses, though she rarely has a need for such items. Lady Grey feels brawling to be unsophisticated and will have no part in it, though she did take up fencing as a pastime and for exercise.

Recommended Setting: Any advanced adventuring party (70-90 CP spent.)

Happy gaming,
TheDungeonRat

  1. I appreciate how you’ve laid out characters for different levels of play here.

    • Sorry for the late reply, again!

Thanks! I like to make characters for different difficulties, because not every table is the same, and even then, sometimes characters die later in the campaign! Leveling up new characters can be a huge pain sometimes, so I like to mess around with that. Also gives GMs a little wiggle room for NPCs. Thank you!
